Brandy grew up in small town South Carolina, and trust me, unless she’s actively trying to change her voice, you’re going to notice from her accent. After graduating as valedictorian at Newberry Academy, Brandy continued her life as an overachiever by completing 199 credit hours at Converse University. Why she didn’t go for that extra hour while she was getting her BFA in Creative and Professional Writing along with a BA in Theater and Politics, the world may never know.

She took a break post-Converse for a year while she worked at Wal-Mart as a cake decorator. Deciding that a life dealing with customers and buttercream all day wasn’t chaotic enough, she went on to get a Master’s of Literature in Terrorism and Political Violence from the University of St. Andrews in Scotland. While Will and Kate might have found each there and got married, all Brandy found was that she absolutely loved being able to in depth research all day and call it work.
